Team Kendall Racer of the Month - February 2012 - Shane Williams

We are pleased to name Shane Williams of Billings, Mont., as the Team Kendall Racer of the Month for February. Williams' racing career started more than 20 years ago when he began tearing up local racetracks throughout Montana in his 1971 Cheverolet Chevelle. After taking a 17-year hiatus to raise his children, Williams made his way back to the track in 2012 when he entered the International Hot Rod Association's (IHRA) Sportsman class.

"I stopped racing in 1993 to raise my kids and help them pursue their own racing careers," shared Williams. "As soon as they graduated and went off to college, I knew it was time to start racing again. I missed teh competitive environment and the friendships that come with the sport."

Throughout his racing hiatus, WIlliams coached his two children and helped them win a few titled of their own, including the Montana State Diesel Class Championship and the Montana State High School Class Championship. Williams attributes a lot of his racing sucess to his children because that's where he learned about proper equipment and driving techniques.

The past two years proved to be successful for Williams, when he grabbed several first place titles - including the Montana State Points Championship - and becoming a member of Team Kendall. Although he had been using Kendall GT-1® High Peformance Motor Oil with Liquid Titanium® protection additive during that time, noting the performance enhancements he's seen, he only officially became a member of Team Kendall in January 2012. Excited for what this new racing adventure will bring, Williams hopes to make this upcoming season his most successful year to date.

"I'm thrilled to be a member of Team Kendall," Williams continued. "I'm still racing my 1971 Chervolet Chevelle' and thanks to Kendall Motor Oil, I don't have to worry about the engine's wear-and-tear. I can spend less time doing maintenance and more time driving and having fun."

Williams' 2012 season begins in May at his local track, Lost Creek Raceway, in Anaconda, Mont., where he hopes to claim the Montana State Points Championship title for the second year in a row.

"We are thrilled that Shane Williams has been named Racer of the month," added Marketer Robert DuPree of Cross Petroleum Service, Inc. in Billings, Mont. "Shane has a lot of potential, and it's great to see him come back to the track after so many years away. We're excited to see him continue to win races and represent Team Kendall."

Congratulations to Shane on being named our February Racer of the Month. We wish him all the best on his 2012 racing season - and his first year as a Team Kendall racer!
