Kendall Motor Oil Sponsors Ukrainian Drift Racer

08/31/2012

In addition to advancing Kendall Motor Oil and other Phillips 66 Lubricants brands in the Russian market as Ukraine's largest Phillips 66 Lubricants distributor, US Packaging Corporation has partnered with the Ukraine's USOIL to sponsor one of Russia's most promising drift racers, Vitalii Kovbasiuk. Despite his young age, 22-year-old Kovbasiuk is extremely skilled at drifting and is scheduled to compete at the 2012 Ukrainian Drift Championship.

"After our customers assessed the quality of Kendall Motor Oil in the Ukrainian market and confirmed that it is a superior product, we felt confident in supporting the brand and sponsoring local drifters with this oil," hsared Viacheslav Iushchenko, Director of USOIL.

Drifting is a high-skill, high-powered motorsport that calls for the driver to intentionally oversteer, causing a loss of traction in the rear wheels while maintaining control of the vehicle from start to finish. This extreme form of driving is becoming increasingly popular and requires an incredible amount of discipline and control - both of which Kovbasiuk exemplifies on the track.

Professional drifting competitions are held worldwide and are judged according to the speed, angle and line taken through a corner or set corners. Since drivers are challenged to corner at maximum speed with controlled skidding, it's imperative that they systematically prepare their vehicles and select the best products that will secure their safety.

"We realize that drifting can be hard on an engine," Iushchenko pointed out. "Kendall Motor Oil secures flawless exploitation of the vehicle's parts and units, so we're thrilled to be able to provide Vitalii with the best protection possible and help pave his way to victory."

The 2012 Ukrainian Draft Championship takes place this September and will be televised on several Ukrainian television stations. We look forward to watching Kovbasiuk represent Kendall Motor Oil in this exciting race and wish him the best of luck!
