2012 Kendall Motor Oil Facebook Contests
After launching a series of exciting Facebook contests throughout 2012, we're pleased to share that the Kendall Motor Oil Facebook page has grown to more than 3,000 fans! We created contests surrounding long-time Kendall Motor Oil user Jim White and Team Kendall's V. Gaines to increase awareness about their involvement with Phillips 66 Lubricants and to inform consumers about Kendall Motor Oil's impressive engine wear protection capabilities in an interactive way. Through contests, we offered Kendall Motor Oil Facebook fans the chance to win exciting prizes, ranging from free oil changes to Kendall-branded T-shirts and caps.
To promote Jim White's impressive story of driving more than 600,000 miles solely with Kendall Motor Oil, thanks to the superior engine wear protection benefits, we posted images of White on his travels along with interesting facts about the locations. For each photo, the first Facebook fan who correctly guessed, "Where in the U.S. is Jim White?" was rewarded with a prize pack that included various Kendall-branded gear. The contest generated a large response with fans from all over guessing White's location.
In celebration of V. Gaines' 10th anniversary as a Team Kendall driver and to build excitement around the upcoming NHRA season, we also supported the Gaines' Car Wrap contest. Gaines asked fans to vote on a new car wrap design for his 2010 Dodge Avenger via his Facebook page by "liking" and commenting on photo rendering of the two options. Hundreds of fans voted on both designs, but ultimately the red-accented theme was selected as the winner.
"We wanted to make this year special since it's my tenth year with Team Kendall, and what better way to celebrate than getting our fans involved," asked V. Gaines. "It was great to see the support from Kendall Motor Oil fans on Facebook."
The most recent contest encouraged fans to help Kendall Motor Oil reach 3,000 Facebook "Likes" by offering a vintage Kendall-branded clock to the person who was our 3,000th Facebook "Like." To encourage fans to spread the word to their friends and family, we provided a second reward - a Kendall prize pack - to the fan who referred the person who achieved the 3,000th "Like." The contest was a huge success and resulted in a page growth of more than 200!
