Team Kendall Racer of the Month - June 2013 - Tim Sullivan Jr.

We are pleased to name Tim Sullivan Jr. of Medaryville, Ind., as the Team Kendall Racer of the Month for June. Sullivan began racing just eight years ago; and after a brief stint away from the track last year, he is back and more successful than ever!

"I started seeing my hard work of long nights preparing for races pay off during my third year when I won a heat race and feature in the same night," Sullivan shared of his racing history. "I went on to win the Owner's Championship race two years in a row at my old track, Kankakee County Speedway in Kankakee, Ill. After seeing positive results so quickly, I decided to try out a more competitive class."

In 2011, Sullivan moved up from the competitive I-Mod class to the elite UMP class. The new class turned out to be more aggressive than the racer had anticipated; then, after experiencing a devastating crash that left his vehicle in pieces, Sullivan decided to take a break from racing.

"After taking some time off, Tim has returned to the track in a very positive way," noted Marketer Rich Boteler of Quality Oil Inc. "We're very excited for Tim's racing accomplishments and extremely proud of him for receiving the Racer of the Month honor from Team Kendall."

This year, Sullivan joined the Team Kendall family and is back competing in the I-Mod class at his local track, Shady Hill Speedway in Medaryville, driving a custom-built Metric chassis with a small block 358 C.I. Chevrolet engine and Turbo 350 transmission. He has already grabbed two features and three heat race wins, making his return to the track an exciting and welcomed experience for everyone involved.

Sullivan hopes to continue his hot streak throughout the remainder of the season. "My main goal is to be consistent - especially after experiencing a rocky season my last year on the track," he said. "We've started out this season doing well in points, and I hope it continues."

We congratulate Tim on being named our June Racer of the Month and wish him a successful 2013 season.
