Team Kendall Racer of the Month - August 2013 - Wade Cole

08/29/2013

After an exciting competition on the Kendall Motor Oil Facebook page, we're pleased to announce that Wade Cole, a 20-year Team Kendall veteran, has been chosen as the August Racer of the Month. The accolade, which is given to the racer whose photo receives the most "Likes," comes as no surprise to those who know Cole, as he's been racing for more than 40 years and has developed a solid fan base.

Cole's passion for racing started at an early age as he watched his father race and often assisted him with vehicle maintenance. In 1972, Cole decided it was his turn to take the driver's seat, so he purchased a 1936 Chevrolet Coupe and registered at a local track in New Hampshire.

"I was excited to start racing, and at the age of 19, I thought I had it all figured out...but I was wrong," shared Cole. "My very first race I ran straight into a wall and wrecked my car. After that, I was determined to learn everything I could about racing, and I spent all year working on my Coupe to prepare for the next season."

The following year, Cole won back-to-back features and took home the Rookie of the Year title. Today, Cole races throughout the U.S. in the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour and continues to prove that he's a strong competitor, regularly finishing within the top 20 spots.

"There's a lot that goes into racing, but I think the most important things are quality equipment and a strong crew," said Cole. "I've been using Kendall Motor Oil and my engine sponsor since I started racing, and it gives me confidence on the track knowing I can depend on my equipment."

Cole's loyalty has helped him succeed in the racing industry as he's made many friends throughout the years. In fact, aside from the thrill of driving, Cole's favorite thing about racing is the camaraderie amongst the other drivers.

"Wade and his team have been a part of our Team Kendall program since I can remember, and he is truly committed to the brand and the sport," added Marketer Wendy A. Robertson of GH Berlin Woodward in East Hartford, Conn. "We're very proud of Wade's accomplishments and wish him continued success!"

With the majority of the 2013 season behind him, Cole looks forward to finishing strong at the World Series of Thompson Speedway in Thompson, Conn.—his favorite track.

We thank Cole for his devotion to Kendall Motor Oil and wish him teh best of luck in the remainder of the season.
